From 1943 Yitzhak lived in Budapest and worked as a car painter. In April 1944 he was enlisted in a forced labor unit. In September 1944 Yitzhak escaped from the camp and arrived in the “Glass House” on Vadász Street in Budapest. He equipped himself with forged documents and ran various errands for his movement, such as the transfer of documents, distribution of food and deliveries. After the liberation of Budapest Yitzhak was caught by Russian soldiers and, although he claimed to be Jewish, he was incarcerated in the prisoners’ camp for Hungarian and German soldiers. He managed to escape and arrived in a hahshara. In 1946 Yitzhak made aliya and joined Kibbutz Yassur. He left the kibbutz and moved to Kiriyat Tivon.
